40 APA members attended our presentation yesterday given by Alex Chapman and Jamie Smith, partners in the law firm Sheridans – to hear about a real opportunity that could be very helpful to the finances of your business.

They explained the potential for projects you have undertaken to qualify for the creative sector tax credits (gaming, animation, film, theatre reliefs etc), accessing research and development tax credits  and other means of accessing funds for APA members, building on their experience of recovering very substantial six figure sums for their clients.

Credits can be accessed for past projects so long as they were completed or released in the current open tax period (e.g April 18 – March 19) and the previous tax period (e.g. April 17 – March 18).  An important point to note is that if you do not claim for a project within the time frame then you potentially lose that tax credit.

You can access their presentation here and you can have a discussion about any project you think might qualify by emailing Alex or Jamie. They will asses the project for you without charging you and if they believe you have an entitlement, they will pursue the claim for you on a no win, no fee basis.
