House of Commons Treasury Committee: The Report

This report from the House of Commons Treasury Committee “Economic impact of coronavirus: Gaps in support” took into account 16,000 submissions from individuals, groups and unions – including the APA (see page 15), and concluded that there were practical means to assist the self employed and other excluded groups.

“The Government must assist these people if it is to completely fulfil its promise to do whatever it takes to protect people from the economic impact of coronavirus”.

The Treasury Committee could not have been clearer in its findings and recommendations.

It delivered them to the Government who – shamefully – did nothing.
