APA and London Screen Academy Partnership to Provide Opportunities for Diverse Talent
The APA (Advertising Producers Association) has joined forces with the London Screen Academy (LSA) to support the next generation of film creatives.
The LSA is a sixth form academy for youths passionate about film production and storytelling. Its mission is to transform the lives of underrepresented youths, recruit a highly diverse student body and provide a pathway to the UK screen industry.
This collaboration will see the APA provide expert industry presentations on music videos and commercials production in LSA’s career week on February 23, 2022.
Speaking at the APAXLSA event are:
Mia Powell – Lammas Park
Aly Moffat – 2AM
Carly Stone – Madam
Rebecca Luff – The Quarry
Barny Wright- No. 8
This partnership offers opportunities to LSA graduates by connecting them with paid work experience and employment opportunities within commercials production.
The APA’s seven-point diversity plan establishes that providing industry knowledge and valuable opportunities are vital to improving diversity. This partnership will help provide that.
Steve Davies, CEO of APA, said: ‘’The London Screen Academy is a brilliant organisation with superb facilities and expert teaching. It is precisely what an industry in need of new talent needs and what young people in London are seeking to create a career in production need. Ultimately it will help us make the industry more diverse and representative of the population we are advertising.”
Tom Holmes, Industry Progression Manager, added: ‘’London Screen Academy are thrilled to announce our partnership with the Advertising Producers Association. The London Screen Academy aims to provide diverse young talent with the skills and knowledge needed to establish careers within all sectors of the creative industries. The APA partnership will provide LSA students with first-hand experience working within the exciting advertising sector via inspiring initiatives, including masterclasses, work experience placements and industry mentors”.
