Underrepresented Talent Networking Event Recap
Posted in Events, on March 12, 2024
Last Thursday 7th March, we ran an evening of dynamic Speed Networking as part of our Recruiting Underrepresented Talent event series. This is the first in what will hopefully be many more speed networking events to come, as we continually refine the structure to best support our members in connecting with talent from underrepresented groups.
The evening aimed to provide a supportive environment for talent from underrepresented groups to meet with APA member companies in a more structured way than previous events. The 1-1 chats allowed talent to discuss their skills, make connections and receive advice on their career paths. Attendees from various backgrounds, roles and levels of experience came together with our member companies, creating a vibrant and lively environment.
The event attracted an array of participants, representing various ethnicities, genders, ages, neurodiverse people, and disabled people. Professionals from production, post-production, sound design, casting and diary services were in attendance, helping to provide talent with different industry perspectives and experiences.
We had a number of our D&I partners in attendance to meet with both member companies and talent to have further conversations regarding diversity, equity and inclusion in the industry as a whole.
A big thank you to Framestore and Company 3 for hosting us once again – we love coming to you.
We also want to say a massive thank you to all our member companies who attended and dedicated their time to the speed networking sessions.
And another huge thank you to our D&I partners who joined us on the evening.
Keep an eye out for future events and initiatives as we continue our mission to amplify and uplift voices that have previously been underrepresented.
