Cannes 2024 | RECAP
Posted in Events, tagged with Cannes, Events, on June 24, 2024
Our Cannes events were built around the LBB beach, which we sponsor to provide a base for members attending- it’s a great space for networking and events- a small but important piece of Cannes real estate v the tech companies take over.
The World Producers Summit (pictured) is the annual meeting of 100 production company owners/MD’s from around the world, which we host with the AICP and CFPE. It is an opportunity to discuss issues that effect production companies worldwide and share intelligence. This year there was one topic- agency in-house production and the threat it poses and effects/responses to it in different markets. That has been a key focus for the APA and our members for some time, as you know.
Our Power of Creative Production Panel on Thursday saw our panellists:
- Antonio “Tronic” McDonald, Founder & E.P, KUAMP, New York
- Josie Juneau, Head of Advertising, RSA Films
- Toby Walsham Founder & CEO, Imagine This
- Wojtek Skiba E.P at Papaya Films
- Jillian Gibbs, Founder & CEO, Advertising Production Resources (APR)
- Josh Tenser, ECD and Founder, CALLING
- Rejane Bicca, Production Manager, O2 Films Brazil
Explain how creativity was key to advertising effectiveness and that the the route to the best and most creative work- and the best value was through independent production companies and the triple bid.
There were interesting panels everyday at LBB and they and the UK Advertising Export Group, of which we are members have enabled new opportunities to learn at Cannes without being a delegate at the official festival.
Great to catch up with many of you out there – particularly at the APA Villa Party on Thursday which was very popular and enjoyed by all (except for the part where we had to watch England trying to play football) and it was a fantastic opportunity to meet agencies, advertisers and production companies from around the world.
