Support for the LA production community

From discussions with many of you, we know you are shocked and upset by the LA fires – naturally – and concerned about people you know in our industry there and the effect on many people working in the industry in LA, along with anyone affected by the fires.

Many of you would like to provide support to the LA advertising community. Through various discussions here and with producers living in LA, some of whom have been personally effected by the fires, we learnt their views – that the people affected need help, but they are still in the middle of the crisis with the fires still burning and threatening to spread, and that their needs as a whole are so huge and complex, it is difficult to see how help from the APA membership might be best directed.

As outlined in our members’ meeting yesterday, we will keep that under review with the producers we are speaking to in LA and with the AICP, the US producers association and develop a plan in consultation with them.

If you do want to help immediately, we would suggest that an effective way to do that is via the AICP’s resources around the fire that links through to Go Fund Me pages of individuals in the industry who have lost their homes and need help.
