Role: Editor, Park Village

Reporting to: Adam Booth, Executive Producer

Park Village are recruiting for a in-house editor who is proficient in adobe software, especially Premiere Pro, with a surrounding knowledge of After Effects and post production processes. The contract is initially for 1 year, which may include a prospective long form commission, but we’d hope to extend to a full time position across all our editing needs. You should have experience cutting branded and entertainment content, promos, trailers, working with directors and assisting senior editors, with an ambition to tell long and short form stories and create inspiring content alongside our talented roster of directors. You’ll be joining our busy Production team and working with our producers and EP’s to support all edit requirements of our Productions, working across long form, commercials, content and music videos.

About Park Village:
Park Village is a multi-faceted Creative Production Studio with our own central London facilities, working across Film, Stills and Events. We represent an exciting and eclectic roster of directors and photographers and then there’s our village community of like minded partners to draw upon. We are developing a burgeoning post department, with plenty of opportunity for growth along side our newly founded long form development arm.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with directors, producers and EPs to effectively deliver work that constantly exceed client expectations.
  • Offline & Online edit of commercial projects, documentary, showreels and marketing content.
  • Rushes footage management, storage and server management.
  • Edit selects, sound syncing, project set up and build of initial timeline.
  • Participating in the creative process and offering your own ideas and creative solutions.
  • Supporting all senior and freelance editors with technical requests and in house process.
  • Backing up, Transcoding, filing and managing rushes, accurately archive all projects and raw footage.
  • Potential to act as DIT in studio or on set, and as editor on location shoots.
  • Working with the EPs to ensure the effective operations of the post set up.
  • Liaising with external technical support and post production suppliers.
  • Oversee the output of freelance editors to assist in delivery.
  • Archiving delivered projects to Vimeo and server.
  • Sourcing and research of archive and existing footage to implement into edits.
  • Sourcing of music tracks from music libraries for edits.
  • Edit and deliver creative showreels to promote PV and our directors.
  • Uploading WIP edits and file transfers for feedback and amends.
  • Assist in housekeeping and management of all footage and project files on Cloud / onsite Server.
  • Media managing and conforming for grade.
  • Exporting for post facilities (OMFs, AIFs, DPX, TIFFs, Q’times, MP4, XMLs, EDLs).
  • Technical maintenance of hard drives, hardware, software licenses and updates.
  • Work with the Producers / directors to ensure post timelines stay on schedule.
  • Liaising with studio team on upkeep of edit suite and ensuring all visiting Directors, Editors, clients are looked after.
  • Engage with the staff and culture of PV as a valued member of the team.

Essential Skills / Requirements:

  • Extensive Showreel of editing, including both creative offline and technical finishing.
  • A solid understanding of end-to-end editing and post-production workflow.
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe post production software, and linear editing software (Premier, FCP, AVID).
  • Basic knowledge of design packages such as Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Basic knowledge of audio, VO recording and sound design.
  • Experience of a variety of post software such as DaVinci Resolve, REDcine, frame.io, Quicktime etc.
  • Good understanding of Codecs, compression, export and delivery processes.
  • Good understanding of offline/online workflows.
  • Good understanding of online video platforms, file delivery and upload / download processes.
  • Experience with HD camera workflows – including ingest, transcode and conform.
  • Understanding of cloud / onsite servers and general media storage.
  • Some experience delivering projects for online, film and television.
  • Good communication skills, to be comfortable liaising with editor’s, producers and EPs.
  • A confident self-starter, a pro-active, systematic and efficient team player.
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills, proven ability to prioritise a challenging workload effectively and work to tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to expand knowledge of editing software, hardware, post production processes and protocols.
  • Experience in a similar role in a digital media / post production environment.
